The newly elected FIM AFRICA Council, is pleased to advise that Mrs. Gillian Dykes has been appointed as a Director on the FIM AFRICA Council. Gilly is well known in the Motorcycle Community not only in Africa but also Internationally. FIM AFRICA held their General Assembly in Andorra on the 3rd December 2018, following the FIM 2018 GA and Awards. One of the items on the agenda was the election of Council members in the new format, which was approved at the recent EXOGA.

Entries are open for the 2019 commemorative regularity rally which celebrates the 106th anniversary of the staging of the motorcycle road race between Durban and Johannesburg that was staged annually between 1913 and 1936. Motorcycles that are eligible to compete in this commemorative event are therefore limited to those manufactured before the end of December 1936.

The Sporting and Non-Sporting Commissions of FIM AFRICA held there annual meeting in Johannesburg on Saturday 11th March, with a total of 30 members in attendance, representing 9 of the 14 current members of the CONU.
This was the first meeting of its kind that was staged independently of the annual General Assembly and near the beginning of the year and not the end.
