The Monroe Racing superbike team will again be in action during Round 3 of 2018 Zimbabwean Superbike Championship. The Sunday, May 20 race day will see the team returning to the Sables Dragpro Donnybrook circuit just outside Harare. This will also be the first time that both Zoé Bosch and Nicole van Aswegen will be making the trip together.

For Bosch this will be her third outing at the circuit. Round 1 of the championship back in March saw her successfully representing the team. Since Round 1 the majority of her activities have been focused on further testing during which she has made significant improvements. Competing on the Kawasaki ZX-6R, she is looking forward to putting these improvements to the test against the formidable line-up of competitors who will join her on the grid.

One of these competitors will be her own team mate Van Aswegen. The Motorsport South Africa Women in Motorsport brand ambassador joined the team during their visit to the Bulawayo Motorsport Park for Round 2 of the championship. This will be Van Aswegen’s first visit to the Sables Dragpro Donnybrook circuit; a new challenge that she’s eagerly anticipating. This time round she’ll be competing on the Triumph Daytona 675R.

Apart from their on-track activities, the ladies will actively train young recruit Jessica Howden. This Monroe Racing initiative being run in conjunction with Toyota Zimbabwe aims to develop young, aspiring female competitors in the sport.

Team personnel previews:

Zoé Bosch – #81 Monroe Racing Kawasaki ZX-6R:

“It is always a pleasure to return to Harare. The racing and atmosphere is something different and very enjoyable. It will be a busy weekend ahead for us which I’m looking forward to. Sharing this with Nicole will also be a real highlight. While I’m the one with experience of the circuit, she is the one coming in with years of proven skill and pace. Learning from each other is one of the greatest things we enjoy in the Monroe Racing team.”

Nicole van Aswegen – #21 Monroe Racing Triumph Daytona 675R:

“The trip to Bulawayo was an amazing experience and I’m quite certain that Harare will rate right up there as well. With me being Jessica’s mentor I’m particularly looking forward to continuing her training in her own backyard as well. From what I hear the Harare circuit is not as fast as Bulawayo, but just as technical and challenging. I’m looking forward to a good weekend all round.”

Vic Rich – Team Manager, Monroe Racing:

“We always enjoy our trips to Zimbabwe. It’s about so much more than the racing alone. Zoé and Nicole are two excellent brand ambassadors who have built up a very strong bond over a relatively short time. Seeing them both in action in Harare will be spectacular. I’d also like to take the opportunity to thank our sponsors Monroe South Africa, Fuchs Lubricants South Africa, Fuchs Lubricants in Zimbabwe, Banff Lodge Hotel, Better Drive and Yoshimura for making this upcoming journey possible.”
