Young Oosthuizen & Green off to Malutis
Pepson Plastics Husqvarna Racing heads to the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho for the 51st running of the ‘Mother of Hard Enduro’ 2018 Motul Roof of Africa from 6-8 December with a youthful two-man line-up looking to unsettle the establishment. Pepson Plastics Husqvarna racing with Liqui Moly, Metzeler and Carbontek has put its faith in its young 2018 SA Enduro championship heroes, William Oosthuizen and Matthew Green to take on among the best hard enduro riders on earth in the epic three-day race.
2018 MSA National Enduro Championship hero, 20-year old Mossel Bay rider William Oosthuizen who quite literally fought to the death in an epic E1 class war, is keen to improve on 14th in the gold class at last year's Roof of Africa and he’s ready for action in Lesotho. “We had a brilliant year in the SA Enduro championship and I've worked flat out in the build-up to the Roof,” Fox-clad William pointed out. “I'm 100% ready and the team has a perfect Pepson Plastics Husqvarna TE 300i ready for the mountains — let’s do this!"
Last year’s SA High School Enduro champion and 2017 Roof of Africa Gold Class finisher, 16-year old Nottingham Road lad Matthew Green is the other arrow in Pepson Plastics’ young 2018 Roof of Africa quiver. Green rode to third in his debut 2018 SA E2 championship and also ended sixth in the Silver class on his first Red Bull Romaniacs against the top extreme enduro riders in the world in Romania earlier in the year. “The Roof of Africa is the big one,” Shift-clad Matthew explained. “I had a great run in the Malutis in the Junior race last year and I can’t wait to get out there on my Pepson Plastics Husqvarna TE 150 — the perfect machine to conquer Lesotho. “I have the best team in the business behind me too — bring it on!”
“We have our two young guns; William Oosthuizen and Matthew Green racing the Roof of Africa this year,” Husqvarna South Africa brand manager Fred Fensham confirmed. “It's all about building for the future so watch out for William on the number 6 Pepson Plastics Husqvarna TE 300i and Matt on the number 9 TE 150 — bring it home boys!”
